Francis Ngannou has made history by signing a landmark contract with the Professional Fighters League (PFL). This groundbreaking deal includes equity, a leadership role representing fighters in the PFL advisory board, chairman of PFL Africa, split of event profits, signing bonus, salary to serve as PFL brand ambassador, personal sponsors in the cage, non-exclusivity for boxing, no champions clause or other extensions, guaranteed high seven-figure purse, minimum $2 million salary for opponents, and a maximum of two to three fights.
The upside doesn't end there. Ngannou's boxing deal is yet to come, promising even greater financial rewards and autonomy.
With this game-changing contract, Ngannou has cemented his place in combat sports. MMA now has a politically iconic champion who sacrificed his title for his beliefs, used his status to fight for fighters, and spoke truth to power. Much like Muhammad Ali in boxing, future fans will ask, "Who is the new Ngannou?" That'll be his legacy.
